Platform Consolidation
The x86 Platform Consolidation of Solaris originally consisted of the x86 platform-specific drivers and utilities. Most of these were folded into the ON Consolidation for the Solaris 9 release. As of the Nevada release, all that remains in this consolidation are the x86 graphics modules for Xsun and the kdmconfig configuration program for them.
Part of this remaining software was released as open source in the past as the Solaris XFree86 Video Drivers and Porting Kit, though the version currently in the Nevada release has been updated to use the drivers from the Xorg 6.8 release.
The current plans for this consolidation in the Nevada Release call for removing it entirely as part of the EOF of Xsun, and using the Xorg drivers delivered via the X Consolidation instead.
