X Consolidation
The X Window System Consolidation of Solaris consists of the X servers, core X libraries and utilities, and the x86 graphics drivers for Xorg. The portions released via OpenSolaris are based on the X11R7.x modular releases, which use GNU autotools to build instead of X's traditional Imake. Code for X components is added to the OpenSolaris releases as each component is converted to the X11R7 modular replacement. For a list of the components and current status, see the Opening X Components page.
The X consolidation does not include SPARC graphics drivers (other than the very old cg6 Sbus driver), Sun Ray graphics drivers, or the x86 graphics drivers for Xsun.
